Kids Cupcakes Your Toddler Will Love

!±8± Kids Cupcakes Your Toddler Will Love

So you're planning a birthday party for your little toddler and are looking for really creative cupcakes you can make. Or maybe you just feel like baking cupcakes one day! Either way, there are some really adorable kids cupcakes out there.

Before you start looking for cute kids cupcakes, remember you're baking these cupcakes for toddlers; and toddlers are picky eaters! You may think I'm crazy for telling you this. There isn't a child on earth who wouldn't want to eat a cupcake, right? I believed that too until the day I put a cupcake in front of my 18 month old daughter and she didn't want to eat it! So it's important to keep this in mind when baking kids cupcakes.

Hopefully, I didn't scare you too much! It wasn't a decorated cupcake that my daughter refused; just a plain, unfrosted boring one. Load on the frosting to whichever kids cupcakes you decide to make and every toddler will love them! Frosting is a big draw for toddlers. My daughter will lick the frosting off her cupcake first. As soon as she has finished her frosting, I see her eyes immediately travel over to my delicious looking unbitten cupcake! Let your toddler have a lick of the frosting when your making your kids cupcakes; you'll see what I'm talking about!

It's important to take your time and pick out really creative kids cupcakes; toddlers really seem to be attracted to the most attractive looking cupcakes.

Here a few of my special tips for making kids cupcakes for toddlers:

1. Make it sweet. Toddlers have a huge sweet tooth. I know this because my daughter has no problem eating two ice-cream cones- one in each hand! Don't serve toddlers lemon or carrot cake flavored cupcakes; they may not eat them! Chocolate or vanilla is your best bet for kids cupcakes.

2. Buy special decorating tools. The more tubes and tips you have, the more designs you can make! A basic cupcake and cake decorating set will allow you to make hundreds of different designs. Decorating tools will allow you to make some really fun kids cupcakes that your toddlers will love. You can find decorating tools online or at your local craft store.

3. Use lots of color! Toddlers love everything about color; they love to color and they love to eat anything that is colorful! For instance, have you ever noticed how much kids love Lucky Charms? Guess what their favorite part of the cereal is; the colored marshmallows, of course! If I make a few different colored cupcakes, it seems my toddler always goes for the ones with the most vibrant colored frosting.

4. Remember, toddlers love texture! If you add some kind of candies to your kids cupcakes, there is no way any toddler will leave your side. A yummy cupcake with delicious looking frosting will probably make your cupcakes compelling enough to eat, but the ultimate way to hook your picky eater is to add candies.

These rules are not only useful for baking kids cupcakes your toddler will love. Follow my rules and you will have an arsenal of tools and a variety of candies on hand for whatever baking adventure you pursue!

Best-Selling American Cereals and Breakfasts in the UK

!±8± Best-Selling American Cereals and Breakfasts in the UK

The amount of American food and drink you can now get hold of in the UK is growing by the day, not least in the area of breakfast cereals. Any British person who watches American TV shows, soaps, sitcoms and movies will know of at least one brand of American breakfast cereal. And now they can find out what it tastes like by buying it from online American food retailers that have appeared in recent years.

So what is available and what is popular? A quick Google search for "American breakfast cereals" will give you a list of online sellers that you can take a look at. Here's a list of what appear to be the most popular and best-selling American cereals in the UK at the moment.

1) Lucky Charms

One of the most famous cereals in the world, most people are aware of the tagline "They're after me Lucky Charms!", as the leprechaun (called, of course, Lucky) from the advert says. Lucky Charms are basically frosted oats and coloured marshmallows in the shape of hearts, moons, pots of gold and other things you would associate with a leprechaun. It's not as unhealthy as it sounds either, containing 12 vitamins and providing a good source of calcium.

2) Froot Loops

Another big name cereal, this time from the world famous Kellogg's. This multi-grain cereal is flavoured with multiple fruit flavourings and is advertised by Toucan Sam. It's a long standing cereal in the States and there's also a marshmallow version! You may already be aware of Froot Loops and have wanted to try them. Now you can.

3) Reeses Puffs

This one is probably an acquired taste. Why? Because it comes from Hershey, the makers of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and yes, it contains peanut butter! Actually it is a combination of corn puffs in Hershey's cocoa and Reeses' peanut butter flavour. A favourite with the Americans for sure, and becoming increasingly popular in the UK. Only the USA would consider having peanut butter with breakfast, but these are the same people that have it with jam on sandwiches!

4) Pop Tarts

Yes, you've been able to get Kellogg's Pop Tarts in the UK for quite a few years now, but they are nothing like the American version and they certainly don't come in the range of flavours available in the States. Just look at these - Cookies & Cream, Wild Grape, Strawberry Milkshake, Apple Strudel. The list is endless! Now that the American versions are available in the UK, you can try them all. The beauty of these is their convenience of course - just pop (hence the name) them in the toaster, wait a minute or two and they're done.

5) Pancakes

Ever fancied a proper breakfast of American pancakes with syrup? Well now you can have it. There are a range of authentic pancake mixes from a variety of manufacturers including Aunt Jemima, Bisquick and Mississippi Belle and each of them offer proper syrup to go with it.

Some of the mixes are even suitable for traditional US waffles too. Add some crispy bacon and you really are eating like an American.
